PARENT & CHILD GYMNASTICS (18 Months to Age 3)
Develop a love of dance and creative movement with your child. Parents fully participate in this fun, energetic class that keeps your child engaged. An emphasis on praise helps to promote a strong feeling of accomplishment in the student and a special bond between parent and child.

DANCE-NASTICS
Dance-Nastics is a fun way to do both Dance and Gymnastics. Designed for our early childhood programs here at Above the Barre, students will enjoy 30 mins of Gymnastics and 30 mins of a Jazz/Hip Hop based dance. In the Gymnastics portion, students will learn skills of the beam, bars, floor work and so much more. In the Dance portion, students will learn basic dance skills and a fun choreographed dance. At the end of the 2016/2017 Season, (May 2017), students will participate in the Gymnastics Exhibition Awards where they will be able to show off their gymnastics skills they learned throughout the year.




PRESCHOOL GYMNASTICS (Ages 3 to 5)
We offer two classes for 3 - 4.5 year olds that are ready to participate without a parent. Children are guided through educational circuits that help with gross motor, coordination, balance, fine motor, flexibility, and confidence. Children will learn how to roll, jump. climb, crawl, hop, swing, and cartwheel. Class takes place in our preschool gym where the equipment is a perfect fit for little learners.




PRESCHOOL DANCE (Ages 3 to 5)
Our popular Tap, Ballet, and Jazz combo classes offer students three classic styles of dance in just one class! Each class begins with learning some fun rhythms of tap dancing and then transitions into practicing the essential fundamentals of ballet including learning the French terminology.




SUPERSTAR DANCE (Ages 4 to 5)
Our Superstar Tap, Ballet, and Jazz combo classes are teacher recommended. Students study specific terminology, technique, and choreography.




SUPER STAR GYMNASTICS (Ages 4 to 7)
Teacher recommended. The Super Star class is designed to increase the kinesthetic awareness, and develop the awareness of body movement while beginning more advanced gymnastics involvement on skills and basic postures. Students get introduced into the full size gym and work on the higher beams, uneven bars, and vaulting techniques. Teacher recommendation is required for this class.





HIP HOP
This high energy dance class will introduce students to the latest trends influenced by hip-hop music, cultural fads, jazz dance, and hip-hop culture. Class focuses on isolation, strengthening core muscles for break dancing freezes, and becoming comfortable expressing movement through freestyle and choreography. Our hip hop classes always utilize age appropriate movement and music free of questionable lyrics.





HIP HOP MINI (Ages 4 to 6)
This high energy 40-minute dance class will introduce students to the latest trends influenced by hip-hop music, cultural fads, jazz dance, and hip-hop culture. Class focuses on isolations, strengthening core muscles for break dancing freezes, and becoming comfortable expressing movement through freestyle and choreography. Our hip hop classes always utilize age appropriate movement and music free of questionable lyrics.





Cecchetti Grade I
At Above the Barre, we teach students of all ages the Cecchetti Method of ballet, which pays careful attention to the laws of anatomy. As a Cecchetti-certified school, our students develop all of the qualities essential to the dancer, including balance, poise, strength, elevation and elasticity.





Dance 1 & 2
Dance 1 and 2 include ballet, tap, and jazz to build new skills. This fun class combines the fundamentals of ballet, jazz, and tap technique into an educational experience that the student can take back to the classroom. While having fun and learning the beginnings of dance skills, the students will develop coordination, creativity, and a lifelong love for dance





KIG Acro
An introductory program designed to help new students ignite their passion for acro, improve agility, and build confidence.





BNX
All Boys Class: This high energy dance class will introduce students to the latest trends in music, cultural fads, jazz dance, and hip-hop culture. Class focuses on isolation, strengthening core muscles for break dancing freezes, and becoming comfortable expressing movement through freestyle and choreography while also using dance equipment like bars and more. Also learning proper dance positions and techniques.





LYRICAL DANCE
Lyrical dance is a combination of ballet and jazz dance techniques that uses dramatic motion to interpret music and express emotion. This class focuses on developing strength and flexibility while acquiring solid dance technique.





KIG TEAM 1,2,3,4,5 & 6 (TEACHER RECOMMENDED)
The Kids Ignite Teams are a performance group that work together and learn routines to perform at local events. The dancers are having fun while learning team building skills and making friends to last a life time.








Gymnastics Classes


GIRLS GYMNASTICS LEVEL 1 (Beginner / Ages 6 and up)
This is our beginning level gymnastics class for the child who is new to the sport or moving up through the preschool program. They will learn about the beam, uneven bars, tumbling, vault, and trampoline. Conditioning is also a part of the class including some strength and flexibility. Students begin to learn gymnastics skills as rolls, handstands and cartwheels.





GIRLS GYMNASTICS LEVEL 2 (Intermediate / Ages 6 and up)
The Level 2 class introduces the student to the basic skills and the specific techniques for each competitive event: vault, bars, beam, floor. Conditioning is also a part of the class including some strength and flexibility. Students begin to learn gymnastics skills as rolls, handstands, and cartwheels.





GIRLS GYMNASTICS LEVEL 3 and 4 (Intermediate Advanced / Ages 7 to 12)
The Level 3 and 4 student moves at a more advanced pace perfecting basic skills and improving specific techniques for each competitive event: vault, bars, beam, floor. Conditioning is also a part of the class including some strength and flexibility. Students begin to learn gymnastics skills as rolls, handstands flat backs, cartwheels, stride circles, and shoot throughs.





GIRLS RECREATIONAL LEAGUE: Levels 1, 2, and 3 (Ages 6 to 12)
This class is designed for gymnasts who are interested in learning more about the program. Gymnasts will learn progressive skills on floor, beam, bars, and vault while having fun. Teacher recommended.





RISING STAR GYMNASTICS (Ages 5 to 10)
Teacher recommended. The Rising Star 90 minutes class is designed to increase the kinesthetic awareness, and develop the awareness of body movement while beginning more advanced gymnastics involvement on skills and basic postures. Teacher recommendation is required for this class.





KINDERGARTEN GYMNASTICS (AGES 5 to 6)
This program will help your child develop a love for physical fitness. Kindergarten Gymnastics is a great way for your child to acquire gymnastics experience and also work on gross motor skills. Each class will include warm-ups, various fitness activities, colorful obstacle courses, fun station, balance beams, uneven bars, rings, and much more. Class takes place in our preschool gym where the equipment is a perfect fit for little learners.




TEEN GYMNASTICS (Ages 12 and up)
Gymnastics for teens age 12 and up. Days & times coming soon.




TRAMPOLINE, TUMBLING, AND ADVANCED TUMBLING (Ages 6 to 12)
Trampoline and tumbling classes are for boys and girls. Beginning students will learn cartwheels, rolls, handstands, and bridges. As students advance to the next class, they will learn handsprings, back walkover, front tumbling, round off back hand springs, tucks, and aerials. Strength and flexibility are emphasized in both classes to build higher jumps and better form with our trampoline training and spring floor.





BOYS GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS (Ages 4 and up)
Boys programs works on techniques, skills, flexibility and strength of all 6 competitive men’s gymnastics events: Floor, Pommel Horse, Still rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, and High Bar, using tumble track, rope, and in-ground resi pit.

NEW! NINJA TRAINING
Above the Barre's Ninja Training employs a combination of movements from American Ninja Warrior, parkour, and gymnastics to teach and develop full body awareness and control. There is a dual focus on enhancing overall physical ability and self confidence. We use different obstacles for improving agility, balance, coordination, and strength, as well as overcoming fear and breaking through mental barriers. ATB Ninja Training demonstrates how to have fun while maintaining an active lifestyle.
