School of Dance Christmas Concert
Date: December 14, 2008
Where: Olmsted Falls Middle School Main Stage
The School of Dance Christmas Concert is a fun time for the whole family. It is a great opportunity for the children to perform in front of an audience and perform for those who love them the most, their family.
Each class will spend the next 5 weeks learning a dance to holiday music. These dances will be performed for all to see at the Concert. Because we only spend 5 weeks on the dances, the structure of the concert is quite informal.
Here are the details:
The concert is Sunday Dec 14th at 1:30 and 5:00. Click here to see detailed schedule.
Each class will be in one of the two shows. You will be informed at the beginning of November as to which concert your child will participate in.
The children must be ready to go and in the seats set aside for the dancers 15 minutes prior to showtime.
Admission is will be $4 per adult to assist in covering the rent of the facility. Children under 16 do not require a ticket. Tickets can be purchased presale the week prior to the concert or at the door. We encourage presale due to the congestion at the door last year.
The show is for family and grandparents. Although you may invite anyone, seating is limited. You may wish to wait to invite friends and neighbors to the Spring Concert in May.
Reception to follow. Please bring a plate of cookies or munchies to share. Snacks are always festive.
Costumes: Basic outfit as listed in the Above the Barre brochure. If you are unsure, please ask. Most classes will have accessories that will be provided at no additional cost. Just come looking your cutest and wear your smiles.
Christmas Concert Volunteers
Volunteers are needed for the following committees:
- Set Up
- Clean Up
- Reception – set up and serve
- Class parent – 1 per dance to help make sure all the children are accounted for and costumes are complete.
Each family is asked to sign up for one committee.
The entire Above the Barre staff will do our best to make the concert an enjoyable, fun experience for all the dancers. HO! HO! HO!Happy Holidays!

Dance students should wear a black leotard and pink or tan tights depending on the class. Ballet skirts may be worn only if they are attached to the leotard.
Acro and Cecchetti students are not permitted to wear skirts during class.
Please make sure the children have the appropriate shoes for the classes they are taking.
